Felipe Gustavo has been on a tear lately, traveling the globe, skating incredible spots, inspiring skaters across the planet and dropping textbook clips on Instagram at a crazy rate.

Every session Felipe has seems to be a progression session. No stop signs. No slowing down. He’s mastering his craft, one gnarly, beautifully executed trick at a time, and it’s exciting to see.

Excuse the cliche, but if “switch backside flip” was in the dictionary, this is what you’d see. These are all basically flawless, from the time he pops to his precise flick and rotation to the solid roll-away—this is it. I honestly had to watch this clip a few times before realizing these are all separate makes. Until I saw that second angle (love that angle) I thought he was just replaying the same clip. That’s insane! He literally has this trick that dialed. He has mastered the art of this difficult trick, over a double-set handrail no less.

Everyone from Ryan Decenzo to Carlos Ribeiro to Pat Duffy are in the comments giving props, among many others. Of course they are. It’s almost hard to believe this is switch. I can only imagine how good it must feel to do this trick, this well—let alone this consistent. Felipe is constantly setting the standard with tricks like this and motivating everyone from your favorite pros to up-and-comers alike.

Put in the work and the results will follow. It’s a timeless notion that proves to be true time and time again. Felipe knows it, and he’s reaping the benefits with every new difficult go-to trick he secures.
