In this strong instructional video with Anthony Vela, get the basics of stand up paddling from safety tips, precautions and paddle + board terms to preliminary instruction on how to start paddling.  This video is sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund to get YOU ready for the virtual Panda Paddle event, scheduled for August 21st – 23rd. Anyone can join in and now, you can too!

What is the Panda Paddle?

Each year, the World Wildlife Fund creates a dynamic fundraiser to raise awareness for their environmental causes by “putting people in nature to help protect it.” This is the Panda Paddle. This year’s event is a Virtual Race or Recreational Paddle Experience. Paddlers help to raise money for this great cause and participate in a variety of paddling experiences on the weekend of August 21st – 23rd.  No matter what your current skill level, if you have board & paddle, you can participate.

Protect the planet AND paddle?  Sounds like fun!

Register for Panda Paddle to Protect the Planet

Registrants will make a one-time donation of $30 to participate and be given an individual or team fundraising page where you can ask family and friends to participate. Have them support you and help preserve the planet’s natural habitats. If you love water as we do, it’s easy to ask for support. Plus, this is an opportunity to ‘get together’ with people virtually from all over who share a similar lifestyle. And, if racing, it’s a chance to test your mettle against some of our best SUP racers to see where you stack up!

All in all, a fun weekend for everybody!  If not racing yourself, you can support Team Standup Journal in our quest to protect what we love most… water!

P.S.  Did we mention there is SWAG?
