As we gear up for the grand finale of the 2022-23 ski season in the United States, we bid adieu to Mammoth, which gracefully wrapped up its snowy spectacle last Sunday. Now, on the snowy stage, there’s only one star left shining under the open sky: Timberline Lodge in Oregon. But hold onto your goggle straps, folks, because even Timberline’s curtain call is approaching.
In a twist fit for a ski slope soap opera, the news broke that Timberline Lodge is set to take its final bow on Sunday, August 13th – mark your calendars! But, just like a plot twist, this date might waltz around a bit, thanks to the capricious whims of weather and the shrinking snow supply.
Presently, the Magic Mile and Palmer chairlifts are still doing their merry dance, whisking skiers and snowboarders off their feet with mountainous adventures. However, a sneak peek at the Palmer webcam reveals a less-than-plentiful snowpack on the Willis trail. So, the impending closure of this snowy spectacle shouldn’t catch us off guard, just like the unexpected plot twists of a well-written story.
