Taking out the Lexus Trestles Pro in dominant fashion, Canada’s Erin Brooks has now won the last three events of the 2026 Championship Tour. Entering extremely rare air, it’s been exactly 30 years since a surfer won three events in a row in one season on the Championship Tour. That surfer? Kelly Slater.
In 1996, the 11-time world champion rattled off wins at the Rip Curl Pro St-Leu, Réunion, the Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay, and the U.S. Open of Surfing. Carissa Moore won three events in a row in 2014-15, but her streak was broken up across two seasons. No woman has ever won three events in a row in one season.
In the final of the Trestles Pro, Brooks took early lead against Hawaii’s Gabriela Bryan and never really looked back. Riding the momentum she built throughout the day, Brooks battled through five-time world champ Carissa Moore in the quarterfinals, then bested 2025 world champ Molly Picklum in the semis. In full attack mode in the final, she won with a 7.00 and 5.17 in her final scoreline.
“It means everything,” Brooks said after taking out the win at Lowers. “If you told me at stop number seven I’d be where I am right now, I would believe you. It’s insane.”
Brooks’ run started last month with a demonstrative win at the Outerknown Tahiti Pro. She followed that with a statement-making victory at the Fiji Pro. And now, with a win at Lower Trestles, Brooks has vaulted to number five on the WSL leaderboard and enters the conversation.
“What a turnaround in her year,” shared Slater after the final. “And in a couple weeks she has the opportunity to make it four in a row in Portugal.”
Tom Carroll is the only surfer to have ever won four events in a row in one season. The Aussie world champ won four straight in 1984.
Meanwhile, with her runner-up finish, Bryan regains the number one ranking. With three events left in the 2026 Championship Tour season, Brooks, Bryan, and company now head to Portugal, before a stop in the Philippines, and then it’s on to Hawaii for the Pipe Masters.
