Snowboard industry veteran Billy Anderson is returning to Volcom as marketing director in Volcom’s new home with licensee The Levy Group.

Anderson was a team rider for Volcom then moved into marketing roles with the company, including VP of snowboarding, before joining Burton in 2013.  He also worked at Signal Snowboards, Wheel Pros, and most recently at Extracurricular Golf as VP of marketing.

Since the main license for Authentic Brands-owned Volcom moved from Liberated Brands (which filed for bankruptcy earlier this year), to The Levy Group, Volcom has been looking for the right fit to lead marketing, said Brent Lantz, GM and EVP of action sports brands for The Levy Group.

“We moved slow, we wanted to make sure we’re all aligned and all the integration was done and (we) knew exactly where the revenue was going to be,” he said at the Surfside Sports Snow Carnival in Costa Mesa, Calif., Saturday where Volcom had a booth. “It was a long but good process.”

In his new role, which started last Wednesday, Anderson will oversee all Volcom marketing and report to Lantz.

SESO talked with Lantz and Anderson at the Surfside Sports Snow Carnival, which kicks off the snow season each year. Industry executives always flock to the event to support the important snow and surf dealer.

Here are a few photos of other executives we saw at the event.
