On Sunday, videos of a began circulating on social media, showing what appeared to be the aftermath of a dog attack on a young girl from Oahu’s North Shore.
Local news source, Isaac Scharsch (aka @HHHNewz), posted the footage to his community account, and offering details of the incident. As the hours went on, more and more information became available, revealing that a young girl was hospitalized.

Scharsch reported:
“I was sent information regarding an alleged ongoing issue on the North Shore involving two Rottweilers reportedly being brought to the beach off leash.
“According to the person who reached out, one of the dogs allegedly mauled a little girl on the beach last night. They said the little girl was checked into the ER after the attack.”

Later, another post from @HHHNewz showed the aftermath of the attack, and a graphic image of the wounds the young girl sustained. Per Scharsch:
“I was told nothing appears to be broken, but she has multiple puncture wounds and bruising so severe that she currently cannot walk. The wound photo included with this post was reportedly taken in the ER shortly after the incident and was cleared by the child’s parents to be shared for public awareness.”

In the initial post showing the scene, a flood of comments was posted condemning the dogs, the owner, expressing concern, and claiming that this hasn’t been the first time. One comment, which appears to be from the mother of the girl attacked, read:
“These are my daughters in this video. I’m beyond heartbroken and mortified. It’s absolute hell. I would never wish this on anyone. We took our daughter to the ER she has substantial injuries. 10 deep punctures. I’m working with police. The dog needs to be put down, the owner needs to be brought to justice. If you were a witness on the beach yesterday evening, please let me know so I can compile statements.”
As mentioned, some commented that this is an ongoing issue. Per Moana Jones Wong, aka the Queen of Pipeline, she wrote:
“This is NOT the first time this has happened with this dog owner. This is so shameful and unacceptable that this guy holds no accountability. He always blames the victims too.”
