Two titans of novelty wave surfing, and YouTube vlogging, united for a potentially historic surf session, over the Memorial Day Weekend, in a New Jersey waterway.
Ben Gravy and Jacob “Zeke” Szekely teamed up to surf the Cape May – Lewes Ferry wave, a wake forged from the transportation ship, and at some points, even making a substantially surf-able wave. It’s not the first time for this wave, but this time was different.
Per Gravy’s latest vlog, he’s claiming “historic biggest ferry wave on record.” See below.
Equipped with a jet ski to tow into the wave, a wide variety of surf craft, and countless cameras to capture all the angles, the boys took on the ferry wake.
And both Zeke and Gravy got memorable rides – Gravy with one arguably teetering towards head-high territory, hence the claims of “biggest” ever.
Then, Zeke also even launched a full air reverse. First ever? Not quite. But still.
“We had a couple tough breaks,” Zeke admitted. “I blew it on one pretty hard. I kooked it. And then it all came together. NBD [never been done] for me. Is that the first air reverse done on a ferry wave? First ever air reverse on a ferry wave. NBD king.”

In an age where surfing has shifted heavily into the novelty realm, with multiple big names out there on YouTube chasing the weirdest and wildest the world has to offer, this one isn’t necessarily the craziest. But you have to hand it to Zeke and Gravy; they scored in an unlikely destination. That takes determination, grit, commitment.
Here’s more on the Cape May – Lewes Ferry:

“Enjoy stunning views, fresh bay breezes, and the chance to spot dolphins and lighthouses along the way.
