It’s probably the last thing one might expect while enjoying a serene, solo surf session.

But a Brazilian man was arrested while sitting in the lineup, as police rolled up on him via jet ski, then hauled him out of the water in handcuffs.

Check out the footage of the arrest below.

Per Hora 1 Globo, who posted the footage of the arrest above, the man — identified as 50-year-old Credilson Costa Barros — was wanted for a few years on charges of drug trafficking. As translated from Portuguese, the news outlet reported:

“Credilson has faced drug trafficking charges since 2023 and had an outstanding arrest warrant since last year. He came out of the sea in handcuffs,” the aforementioned media outlet reported.

And they chose to make the arrest in spectacular fashion — zooming in via jet ski to apprehend the alleged drug trafficker, then haul him into shore with handcuffs attached.

It’s giving Point Break vibes, a bit. But in this case, the Brazilian authorities (Johnny Utah) didn’t allow the criminal (Bodhi) to catch one last wave before avoiding arrest, and drowning during the “50 Year Storm” instead.

No matter. Looked pretty flat anyway.

Details about the arrest — what kind of drugs, how much, etc. — weren’t made immediately available. But for the cops to scoop him up in such a way, must’ve been serious.

The arrest happened at Praia do Olho d’Agua, a spot, per a travel blog, described as:

“A coastal destination renowned as a legal spot to unwind and enjoy the sun and surf, stands out among the best beaches. Its exquisite beauty captivates visitors with its breathtaking scenery, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a top-notch beach experience. With its pristine shores and azure waters, this coastal gem guarantees an unforgettable time amidst nature’s splendor.”

No splendor for this guy.
