In a bold global expansion, one of our favorite events of the year is taking its pursuit of the finest barrels on the planet to the legendary reefs of Desert Point in Lombok, Indonesia. This year, Capitulo Perfeito marks the farthest that the Portuguese-born competition has ever traveled for an event.

The single-day, tube-only contest will kick off with quarterfinal heats, alongside a special showcase heat with yet-to-be-announced guest surfers. Competitors are battling for a €10,000 prize purse sponsored by Cascais and a direct wildcard into the 2027 Capitulo Perfeito main event back at Carcavelos.

Eight elite surfers are officially on standby for a waiting period running September 1–15, with contest organizers keeping a hawk’s eye on the forecast and issuing a green-light call 72 hours ahead of (hopefully) a pumping swell.

The stacked roster features the four finalists from the 2025 Carcavelos edition—Balaram Stack, Noah Beschen, Cam Richards, and Pedro Calado—alongside Indonesian wildcards Rajo Saputra and Usman Trioko. Two final global wildcard invitations will be revealed soon.

Capitulo Perfeito is truly a unique event that you’re not going to want to sleep on. The upcoming show is positioned to be a roaring fireworks display, and the handful of stacked surfers on deck all have one very pointed goal on their minds: Find as much time behind the curtain as humanly possible. All eyes now turn to the Indian Ocean—standing by for the call.
