Women’s Big Air qualification starts today in Livigno, Italy. The action starts at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
The easiest way to watch all the Olympic snowboarding you want is through NBC’s Peacock app. A premium with ads plan is $11 a month, and an ad-free premium plus account costs $17 a month. It will air live for traditional TV watchers on NBC and USA Network. A rebroadcast will be aired on NBC later.
Three first-time Olympians will represent the United States in the contest: Jess Perlmutter and fellow 16-year-old Lily Dhawornvej, as well as 21-year-old Hahna Norman, who is the only member of the trio who is old enough to vote or buy a lottery ticket.
New Zealand’s Zoi Sadowski-Synnott took Big Air silver in the 2022 Olympics and is a heavy favorite to finish among the top 3 this time around. So is Great Britain’s Mia Brookes, who just added her second career X Games gold to her trophy case. Japan’s Kokomo Murase just landed a 1620 in the women’s Big Air contest in X Games, a world’s first in a contest. Of course, don’t forget about Anna Gasser, who won 2018 and 2022 gold medals in that event.
