It seems fitting that Jack Robinson will represent Australia for the 2024 Paris Olympics—thousands of miles from the City of Lights in a dark Tahitian cavern. He’s been in the spotlight since he was a toe-headed grom and has built himself into an athletic specimen in waves that test mental and physical limits. The sportsbooks know Jack’s a weapon, too. DraftKings tagged him as the second most favorable odds to win the gold medal.

Interestingly, this video from Surfing Australia’s High Performance Program doesn’t involve any unseen footage of Jack at Teahopo’o. Rather, it catches Robbo back home on the Gold Coast after the Rio Pro before he heads off to the Olympics. Knowing Jack is a man of mindfulness and meditation, I assume he likes focusing on one thing at a time, letting his routine establish a sense of purpose and confidence.

If it’s a feel good, rip good kinda thing, Jack must be doing something right. This clip overflows with high-performing shredding, from an undisclosed beach break to the most crowded right point on the planet. Watch him do turbo-charged turns (a reminder that step-offs aren’t just for barrels), then nearly skewer a few bystanders at pumping Snapper.

And fret not about Jack’s Teahupo’o reps and his 17th-place finish at the last Tahiti Pro (He won the event the year before). If it’s proper, Jack should shine there. Like he has since his toe-head days.
