Asics Skateboarding’s Gel-Vickka Pro is one of their most sought-after designs, and the black/brown colorway is about as clean and classic as they come.

These are some proper looking skate shoes, if you ask me. So if you’re into low-key, durable, comfortable kicks that are designed with skateboarders and skateboarding in mind, these are a must-cop. Gum sole perfection! Take a look:

They might look simple and minimalistic, but if you’re like me, that’s exactly what I look for in a skate shoe. I don’t need any bells and whistles—just give me a strong shoe built for skateboarding.

Asics continues to do things the right way. I really admire how they’re setting the stage for a handful of skateboarders who genuinely deserve a proper shoe sponsor, but might get overlooked at times. And honestly, all the shoes I’ve seen so far look great.

If you want some of the nitty-gritty details, let me save you a trip. Peep what the crew at Asics has to say about the Gel-Vickka Pro below:

“The GEL-VICKKA™ PRO shoes is inspired by the VICKKA™ training shoe from the 1970s. Its original design focus was to help increase stability during complex training movements. Today, its revamped with a skate-specific functionality. The upper’s forefoot features a one-piece construction that helps reduce tearing. Its sockliner design is based on the movement analysis that occurs while skating. This component applies different levels of pressure on the inside and outside to help promote a better center of gravity and stability. Lastly, our GEL™ technology is strategically placed in the heel to help decrease the impact of hard landings.”

See, nitty-gritty. Boom!

Look for these and all of Asics’s latest offerings at your local shop, or online. A ton of shops across the country have them stocked in their online stores as well, so support whoever you can! As for me—I think it’s finally time to try a pair. These are sick.
