The inaugural Rockstar Energy Open started off hot, and Jess Perlmutter has won yet another rail jam.
The 16-year-old topped the podium for the women yet again, just weeks after winning best overall rider at DIYX in Poland. Jaylen Hanson took second place, and Bella Warren took third place.
Perlmutter rode a frontboard pretzel and a 50-50 and switch boardslide on the down-flat-down kink rail on her way to the win.
“It’s honestly a crazy feeling,” she said after the contest. “I did not think I was gonna win at all. I was just hyped to have fun with my friends, but I liked the course setup a lot: it was really big and I’m hyped to have put some tricks down on it.”
For the men, Californian – and Rockstar team rider – Brandon Davis won first place.

“It’s a family reunion for all the riders and we’re out here just boarding for fun and trying to show what snowboarding’s about,” he said. “Taking that energy into the contest really helped a lot.”
Truth Smith – who entered the event via the wild card – took second place and Sam Anderson took home third, as well as The North Face best trick award for his frontside boardslide 270 through the kink rail.
