Pass, shoot, score, boardslide?
Whitespace, the board and outerwear company from Olympic halfpipe legend Shaun White, has teamed up for another collaboration. This one is with the NHL’s Utah Hockey Club.
Three items came out of the collaboration. A co-branded hoodie that says “create space to create” and features “Utah Hockey Club” on the sleeves. A knit beanie features the Utah Hockey Club’s patch and an embroidered Whitespace logo.
Finally, the snowboard – an AMF Park 155 – features a hockey rink, complete with a goal crease, face-off circles, a red line, and a blue line. The commemorative inaugural season logo sits at center ice, and the base features the Signatures Whitespace black and white print.
“The continuation of our partnership with Whitespace presents an opportunity to deliver a new, exclusive collection for fans that embraces and unites two of Utah’s most loved and celebrated winter sports: snowboarding and ice hockey,” Smith Entertainment Group’s Chris Barney said in a press release.
All of the items in the collection will be available for sale inside the Delta Center’s team store located at 301 S Temple Street.
The collaboration isn’t a first for Whitespace, it’s actually become a key aspect of the board brand. Around this time last year, the brand teamed up with the Utah Jazz to release three Utah Jazz-themed AMF Park Twin boards. One features a replica of the Jazz home court, complete with a three point line and all. The three boards retailed for $800. Some are still available for purchase at the Utah Jazz team store, and on its website.
“I was at a Utah Jazz game and I ran into the owner, and I was like, ‘we should talk, you know. Your fans are the same fans we’re going after. This could be a really cool thing that we can do,” White said in an interview with Snowboarder in late 2024.
Whitespace’s most notable collaboration has been with the luxury brand Moncler Grenoble. The snowboard released in two different colors, and retails for $1,650. It’s a directional powder board, made with a wood core wrapped in a carbon fiberglass weave.
“I have been a fan of them for a long time, and to have a brand that kind of steps into that high fashion space…it’s Moncler. They’re in a league of their own, so to be working with them in any capacity is really, really special,” White said. “That’s been an amazing relationship.”
Whitespace has also collaborated with Patron, High West Whiskey – a distillery based out of Park City, Utah – and Backcountry.
