The new version includes new innovations, with cheeky trademarked names like NoseJob, Tailgate, and Rib Cage Technology. You may laugh, or think we delved into a conversation about plastic surgery (we haven’t), all are features designed to ensure that your boards are fully protected and that packing them doesn’t have to feel like trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube. The NoseJob and Tailgate are removable headers cushioning the tip and tail, with integrated compartments to store wetsuits and additional cushioning. Factor in their Hook-Up System and you can connect all your Db luggage together for a seamless and streamlined travel experience.
Surf bags aren’t what keeps a brand like Db in business, but that doesn’t mean that they skimp on materials and design. Having personally traveled with their first bag for years, and then peeping the 3.0 at Carve Expo, it’s clear that they pulled out all the stops.
“We had Jordy Smith come through the office in Oslo to chat to our designers, arranged online calls with surfers around the world, and spoke to retailers about what they see as potential upgrades we could make. This is one of our spearhead products. When we approach a category, we do so as active participants in that sport or discipline. The Surf Roller Pro is a product where we cut no corners, add foam to every seam, and spare no cost.”
The result is a is a highly protective and mobile travel bag designed to securely store 3 boards in two size options, 6’6″ and 7’6″. For what it’s worth, I’ve gotten 4 boards inside the 7’6″ and they arrived without a scratch and the gate agent even waived the excess weight fee.

That last point is something that’s hard to list in the impressive range of features and comes down to your overall presentation. Think of it this way, gate agents have a lot more power than they let on, so if you walk in looking like a haggard bum and dragging some huge and awkward looking bag, they’re not going to be stoked. You’re going to get hit with every fee imaginable.
