Set high above the famed pointbreaks of Rincon, the annual Creators Gathering brought together Vissla’s diverse crew of shapers, artists, and surfers for a week of creativity, surfboard design, and collaboration.
Each year, Vissla’s Creators Gathering serves as both a reunion and a reminder. It’s a chance for the brand’s team to step away from the noise of the world and return to the roots of hands-on creation. This year’s trip took place on a sprawling outfitter ranch nestled in the coastal hills of Carpinteria, California, where the team camped, shaped, glassed, and surfed together. The crew transformed the old wooden bunkhouse into a DIY glassing bay and rolled in Vissla’s now-iconic Shaping Bay Trailer, a mobile workshop that embodies the brand’s mantra of creativity and self-reliance.
The trip was captured in Creators Gathering: Above The Noise, a short film that blends documentary-style storytelling with raw surf footage and cinematic glimpses into the shaping process. The film debuts today on Vissla.com, alongside the launch of the Creators Collection, a workwear-inspired lineup built for makers, surfers, and anyone chasing creative pursuits. Over the coming weeks, Vissla will continue releasing episodic features and behind-the-scenes stories from the trip every Friday through the winter season.
