Kelly Slater has a handful of cribs across the globe.

Usually, as one would expect, they’re located in the vicinity of world’s premier surfing destinations – Hawaii, Australia, to name a few. As for the latter, Slater picked up a luxury Gold Coast apartment back in 2014 for $2.15 million; but it recently got an upgrade.

Take a peek inside the crib, as Slater – along with partner Kalani Miller, their son Tao, and a baby girl on the way – give a tour of their lavish crib, and explain the vision for the renovation, which was decked out by interior design firm Coco Republic.

Although property records show that Slater purchased the prime real estate back in 2014 for $2.15 million, the value has certainly shot up since then.

“Perched along the Gold Coast shoreline, Kelly Slater and Kalani Miller’s family home is a reflection of the life they have intentionally built together – relaxed yet refined, deeply personal and grounded in comfort,” the firm explained. “Designed in collaboration with our Interior Design team, the residence balances elevated living with the realities of everyday family life, creating a sanctuary that feels calm, restorative and intrinsically connected to its coastal surroundings.”

A lot of thought and intention went into creating a comfortable, yet subtly chic, dwelling for the young (and growing) family. So, Slater and Miller worked directly with the team at Coco Republic to make their home something special.

“We didn’t want anything that felt overdesigned or too precious,” Slater said. “The brief was really about creating a space that felt calm, grounded, and connected to the ocean. A true home instead of a house.”

Miller added: “Coco Republic and their amazing team really understood that balance. The final result honestly felt even better than what we had pictured because they brought this level of refinement and cohesion that still feels effortless. It feels lived-in, but intentional.

“We both gravitate toward the living space the most because it’s where everything naturally happens. The space opens up to the kitchen, so it becomes one big area where we can all come together.”

But the most important thing, of course, is that unobstructed ocean view and hearing the waves crashing while your head hits the pillow. Can’t put a price on that.
