Ideated by Jamie O’Brien, the world’s most fun foam surfboard competition series is coming to Sandy Beach

Red Bull and Catch Surf have partnered to bring the world’s most fun surf competition to the shores of Oahu for the first time. The participatory event series where only foam (soft-top) surfboards are allowed, Red Bull Foam Wreckers is the anti-surf contest surf-contest with minimal rules and maximum fun.

“The whole soft board movement is so fun, and the relatability of people surfing carefree is so appealing; Red Bull Foam Wreckers channels that energy,” says Jamie O’Brien. “I always envisioned this event being at Sandy Beach, and we’re so psyched to bring it to Hawaii for the first time. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone out there on November 5.”

Surf enthusiasts of all skill levels and backgrounds will have the opportunity to showcase their creativity and style in a competition that’s all about minimal rules and maximum fun. Competitors’ performances will be judged by soft-top surf heroes Jamie O’Brien, Ben Gravy, Kalani Robb, Blair Conklin and the rest of the Catch Surf team.

“Red Bull Foam Wreckers is the best thing to ever happen to surfing – period,” says Ben Gravy. “It’s not about being the best one out there, it’s about just being yourself and sharing the stoke of surfing with your community.”
