HONOLULU, HAWAII (February 1, 2024) – Calling all wave enthusiasts! T&C Surf, a renowned supporter of Hawaii’s bodyboarding scene, is thrilled to announce a meet and greet with bodyboarding legends Mike Stewart and Tanner McDaniel. This exciting event will take place on Saturday, February 10th, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at T&C Surf Designs located in Kahala Mall. Attendees will have the chance to take selfies, receive free autographed posters, and even enter a giveaway for complimentary bodyboards and fins.
Renowned waterman Mike Stewart, a pioneer in bodyboarding and big wave tow-in surfing, holds an impressive record of 9 world titles. Inducted into the Duke Kahanamoku Hawaii Waterman Hall of Fame in 2022, Stewart’s legacy includes a record eleven victories at the Banzai Pipeline event, nine of which secured his world bodyboarding titles. He is also a fifteen-time Pipeline Bodysurfing Classic Champion. Stewart founded Science bodyboards in 1998, sharing his expertise and passion with the next generation of wave riders.
Hailing from Kauai, Tanner McDaniel, mentored by the legendary Mike Stewart, recently clinched the World Bodyboard Champion title in October 2023 at the Gran Canaria Frontón King in Spain. McDaniel, the fourth Hawaiian to claim this prestigious title, was also the sport’s youngest Rookie of the Year during his inaugural world tour. With several championship wins, McDaniel has created signature models under the Science bodyboard brand.
This meet and greet offers a unique opportunity for fans to meet these incredible athletes, get autographed posters, and even win free bodyboards and fins! Additional Science Bodyboard team riders in attendance will include Shayne Onzuka, Kawika Kamai, Kaipo’i Koa, and Logan Somoba.
T&C Surf has a long-standing commitment to fostering the sport of bodyboarding in Hawaii, hosting events like the annual “Go Big” pro bodyboarding autograph session for two decades and the ongoing T&C Grom Contest for amateur youth which includes several bodyboard divisions.
