Within watersports, there are some extremely niche corners where the wild things dwell – and perhaps one of the most obscure is speedboat waterfall jumping. Yeah, it’s real.

But one man, Dusty Friesen (who goes by @DustyDoeser on social media), is the new king of that remarkably rare and dangerous realm, as he has allegedly broken the world record for the largest jump ever executed in Alberta, Canada.

Check out the footage below.

Per multiple accounts posting the footage from different angles, Dusty approaches Lundbreck Falls in his trusty jet boat, dubbed (perhaps aptly), “Dent.”

The falls, according to Alberta Parks, is “one of southern Alberta’s most accessible and breathtaking landmarks, located just off Highway 3 between Crowsnest Pass and Pincher Creek. This quick and scenic stop offers striking waterfall views, peaceful river scenery, and plenty of space to recreate.”

Some sources are calling the drop from Lundbreck Falls at 40 feet; while those celebrating Friesen’s massive jump are conservatively clocking it at 29 feet.

As for the claims of the world record, once again, this is such a rare endeavor that it’s tough to confirm any other contenders in the running for the title.

However, according to some sources, like PNW Jetboats, which judging by the verbiage may have been written by Friesen himself, the daredevil has done it:

“NEW WORLD RECORD….. Highest naturally flowing water fall jumped with a water jet boat, Lundbreck Falls done by myself in my boat named Dent. Total water to water decent 29feet.”

The caption added: “Crazy MF.”

Of course, this wasn’t an officially-sanctioned jump, like those of the OG daredevil Evel Knievel. It sounds like Friesen went rogue for this stunt, and now he has authorities investigating his activities.

According to the Daily Hive, a statement from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) read as follows:

“Crowsnest Pass RCMP are looking into the matter in partnership with conservation officers.”

And yet, Friesen has become a superstar for his most recent stunt. The comments on the multiple posts showing the jump are mostly praise. Like this one:

“Insanity at its finest, living legend.”
