Remember America’s Funniest Home Videos?

Well, the modern surfing equivalent of that would be a handful of social media accounts, which specialize in chronicling the comedic mishaps of the surf world. Accounts like the always-entertaining @KookSlams. And recently, they posted a good one worth a chuckle:

The video (originally posted by @TicoKook) shows what appears to be a young surfer getting pushed into a whitewater wave. They pop up, set their line, and power towards the beach. Only problem is, there’s a man in the young surfer’s path, frolicking in the shorebreak. You can guess what happens next.

It’s straight outta America’s Funniest Home Videos. You can practically hear the circus music playing in the background in a compilation of surfing casualty clips, the live audience crowd laughing and clapping in the background, and the corny dad jokes from the announcer.

The comments section went off for the clip.

“Yeah grom! Claim your line,” wrote one viewer.

“Man was wearing loafers in the sea. Fair play!” wrote another.

“Dude spent like four business days staring while the board was coming right at his nose,” chimed another.

Keep ‘em coming, @KookSlams
