On a recent trip to Mainland Mexico, Salty Crew tube hounds Quentin Turko, Lucas Dirkse, and Benji Brand got incredibly barreled.
While all three packed multiple gems during their trip, Brand was the clear standout. Which makes sense. Wherever he travels, and no matter how big or scary the barrels he finds, Brand has a knack for making it all look easy. In Mex, that trend continued. Click play above to watch Brand (and crew) effortlessly switch between paddle and tow, while getting blown out of tube after tube — one day for 7 hours straight.
Just one of these would be the wave of most surfers’ life.
“A little bit like Pipeline out there, huh Benji?” someone asks Brand off-camera, after the last session of the trip.
“But on sand,” he replies, with a big smile.
Yeah, we’d be pretty stoked too.
