If you don’t follow Ben Koppl (@rollersurfer) on Instagram, you’re sorely missing out on some insanely infectious skateboarding fun. Everything he does is gnarly in its own unique way, but extremely relatable in a strange way as well.
He’s extremely talented, so I mean relatable in an “Okay…I also want to go and goof around on my skateboard and not take things so seriously” kind of way, respectfully.
This wallride was wild though, and like basically everything Ben posts caught my attention. I can’t imagine rolling up to that wall in a skiers stance and committing to that transfer. Again, like a lot of the stuff he does, it’s sort of funny and ironic…but still super difficult.

Creative is an understatement. Imaginative is hardly the word… While you could easily peg Ben with both, I just don’t think they give enough justice.
There are so many ways to get creative on your skateboard, but most people fear taking the risk to be too different. Ben doesn’t care, and I think it’s rad.
This is skateboarding, just like that is. And that’s why it’s the best thing ever.
