In 1995, Instant was founded just outside of Tokyo in Urayasu, Japan by Akio Homma and his partner Asaok-san. More famous for fishing than skateboarding, Homma-san took it upon himself to build Urayasu’s skate scene by giving away completes to local kids. Now, 25 years later, his investment has paid off. This past July, Instant opened its 5th shop in Tokyo’s Shibuya neighborhood.
The blue and white leather mimics the color pattern of the buses, and the reflective toe vamp gives off some headlight vibes. On the heel is an embroidered version of a famous Japanese dog with crossed trucks behind him.
The Instant Dunk Low is available at Instant on 9/18 and local skateshops on 9/19.
